The NZCTA in association with the HKNZBA are holding a joint regular monthly informal Yum Cha & networking event. The goal is to provide a consistent touch-point for members to rely on to maintain contact with fellow members, and an opportunity to gain new introductions.

Twelve members traveled to Hong Kong in early December for the annual Hong Kong Forum, the annual gathering of Hong Kong business associations from around the world. The 2018 Forum attracted almost 300 delegates and included a keynote address by Paul Chan, HK Financial Secretary.

As a grand finale to this year’s Hong Kong Festival, HKNZBA held our Annual Gala Dinner at the Cordis on Thursday, 23 August. This year, we had an overwhelming turnout with over 140 attendees, including Auckland Mayor, Mr. Phil Goff, and Director of HKETO Sydney, Mr. Raymond Fan.

This year we were honoured to have Mr Justin De Lille as our guest speaker at our Wellington and Auckland Business Seminars. Justin is the CEO of Liverton Technology Group, which specialises in security, ISP, networking and automation solutions. Justin has extensive experience growing the business in Hong Kong, China, and Macau.

This year, we kicked off our annual Hong Kong Festival with an exhilarating and action packed Hong Kong Film Night at Event Cinemas.

On Thursday 26 July, we welcomed the founder of Cultural Connections, Mr Eric Chuah to speak at our July Business Seminar about his personal story and professional research on migrants in New Zealand.

On Thursday the 28th June 2018, we held our first wine tasting event at the Wine Cave. We would like to say a special thank you to our guest speaker 

On Tuesday 15th August (Auckland) and Wednesday 16th August (Wellington), we welcomed Mr David Whitwam, Chairman of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong,
