“Webinar #4: Stepping into the Greater Bay Area”

Hong  Kong  Economic  &  Trade  Office (HKETO)  will organise their fourth Webinar as part of the Hong Kong House Webinar Series on 8 October (Thursday): Stepping into the Greater Bay Area, featuring Jacinta Reddan, Chief Executive, The Australian Chamber of Commerce in HK and Arnold Cheng, Director – Hong  Kong &  Pearl River Delta, John Swire & Sons (China) Limited.

The Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao  Greater  Bay  Area  (Greater Bay Area  or GBA)  comprises the two Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao, and the nine municipalities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province. With the total area of around 56 000 km2, population over 72 million and a GDP the size of Australia, the Greater Bay Area promotes infrastructure co-ordination, greater connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration and people-to-people bonds in one of the most vibrant parts of the world, and offers unprecedented opportunities for you and your business.

As the most open and best-connected international city in the Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong plays an important role in the Greater Bay Area Development. On the one hand, Hong Kong will facilitate and support the economic development of the region, with a view to enhancing the role and functions of the Greater Bay Area in the country’s two-way opening up; on the other hand, Hong Kong will facilitate the development of industries in which Hong Kong’s strengths lie in the Greater Bay Area, capitalising on Hong Kong’s strengths to serve the country’s needs.

In the latest instalment of the Hong Kong House Webinar Series, our experts, Jacinta Reddan, Chief Executive of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Arnold Cheng, Director – Hong Kong & Pearl River Delta of John Swire & Sons (China) Limited, will share with the audience how they see the market of Greater Bay Area, and analyse what has been achieved and provide perspectives on new opportunities. There will be a Q&A Session at the end of the webinar to address your questions on the subject.
