Derek is a partner in the corporate and commercial team of national law firm Anderson Lloyd, prior to which he was a partner
at another large national firm in New Zealand. He relocated to New Zealand in 2014, after having worked in Hong Kong for 12 years for two international law firms. During this time he honed his expertise in foreign direct investment and cross-border M&A / joint ventures.
Derek specializes in corporate and commercial law, and brings over 25 years’ experience to bear in advising not only New Zealand businesses on their entry into the Hong Kong and Chinese markets, but also in advising Asian businesses on their investment into New Zealand. He is admitted in New Zealand, Hong Kong, England & Wales and the Cayman Islands.
